Caring Kids in the Community!

I am continually impressed with the generosity and caring efforts of children and youth in our community who are making a difference for Ryan House!

There are individual children who have asked for donations or gift cards to Ryan House in lieu of birthday gifts; children who have organized book drives (the house will open with an amazing collection of books!); girl scout troops who have donated cookie sales to Ryan House; youth at Phoenix Country Day have organized a “Movie Night” for lower school students benefiting Ryan House for the past three years; Grayhawk Elementary School selected Ryan House to benefit from a DVD movie drive one holiday season… and the list continues to grow!

Last week, I met a group of youth in Anthem called “We Care Kids” who have been making beautiful glass bead bracelets to benefit Ryan House (more information coming soon on the website and in the newsletter).

Next Saturday, August 22, 2009, Boy Scout Ian Foulger will hold a car wash with his troop to raise funds for his Eagle Scout Project, “The State of the Art Music Cart.” The cart and instruments will be used for mobile music therapy at Ryan House.

Come for a car wash!
